Navigating the 2020 Holiday Shopping Season With Iterable
Following one of the most turbulent years in recent history, consumers were looking ahead to the 2020 holiday season for some much-needed levity and relief. But marketers needed a new playbook of holiday marketing tactics to reach consumers while stay-at-home orders in effect.
Iterable, a cross-channel marketing platform, came to Walker Sands with the goal of landing top-tier media coverage and catalyzing industry conversations about the rapidly evolving retail space. The Walker Sands team proposed a data-driven campaign exploring consumer perceptions ahead of the 2020 holiday season.
Our team created a 15-question consumer facing survey to capture insights about consumers’ holiday shopping plans, and how marketers could pivot their messaging and promotions to best reach key audiences. Following the analysis of the data, Walker Sands developed a blog post, infographic and media outreach strategy to promote and amplify the findings. The goal was to land 15 placements, including three placements in top-tier outlets and three feature articles.
The campaign resulted in an impressive 26 media placements. In addition to nine placements in top-tier outlets like Adweek, Forbes, Yahoo, and Barron’s, the campaign netted six feature placements in publications like StreetFightMag, CustomerThink and Newsday. Just as importantly, Walker Sands’ work played an important role in helping solidify Iterable as a thought leader in the martech space.
