Just Another Day in Chicago
Our Chicago office sits in the heart of downtown, an area affectionately known in Chicago as “The Loop.” At Walker Sands, there’s never a dull moment, and we think having fun should be a team effort. When we’re not cooking up razor-sharp integrated B2B marketing strategies, we’re taking advantage of all the city has to offer — regardless of the Windy City’s unpredictable weather. Check out some of our favorite spots near the office.
Chicago restaurants do more than just deep-dish pizza. There are plenty of incredible food selections near the Walker Sands office so it can be hard to choose where to go on any day of the week, but we manage. Here are some of our go-to lunch spots within walking distance of the office.
With a cafe right in our building, Dollop is a daily (or more) ritual for most Walker Sandsians to get their much-needed caffeine fix. Pro tip: Try the honey cinnamon latte if you’re in the mood for something sweet.
Revival Food Hall
Think of this as a fancy adult cafeteria. With constantly rotating vendors, you’ll always find cuisine that catches your eye (and appetite). Here are some of our favorite go-tos:
- Furious Spoon: One of Chicago’s delicious ramen shops
- Hamburger Stan: For when you just want an old-fashioned burger
- Farmer’s Fridge: Best vegetarian-friendly vendor with lots of green options
And don’t forget all of the Chicago food trucks — they’re always right around the corner. Special shoutout to Happy Lobster, a company favorite which is also owned by a Walker Sandsian’s husband.
From our office on the 39th floor, it’s easy to see there’s a lot going on outside the office, and we’re big fans of joining in. Whether we’re taking a step away from our desks for a break or winding down at the end of the workweek, here are some of our favorite spots near the office.
Federal Plaza Farmers’ Market: The best place to buy fresh fruit and vegetables, or a desk plant for the office (our windows get plenty of light).
The Art Institute of Chicago: The best cure for writer’s block. Pro tip: Admission is free for Illinois residents every Wednesday evening with your I.D.
Brando’s Speakeasy: A nearby vintage tavern that serves great cocktails with a side of karaoke (which sometimes gets better after a couple of drinks).
Adams Street Brewery: Brewery down the street that features a solid rotation of craft and domestic beers — and great happy hour deals.
Revival Café-Bar: Yes, back to Revival Food Hall, but this time to the bar for a fancy architecture-inspired cocktail (or two).
There’s always something to do, eat or see in Chicago. We’re proud to be part of Chicago’s vibrant culture, and you can count on the fact that we don’t take this great city for granted.
Our annual Cubs game outing is always a blast and the perfect way to close out the summer.
Catch us roaming the streets during team scavenger hunts and other friendly competitions.
