Webinar Recap: Measuring PR with Google Analytics

Last week, Mike Santoro and John Fairley shared that when it comes to online media placements, it is possible to determine ROI.  While we were able to highlight six main steps for the webinar, we will be releasing a further detailed step-by-step guide in January.


During the webinar, we polled attendees, and were surprised to discover:

  • Only 22 percent of those polled said they can measure the ROI of PR
  • 65 percent of companies are tracking social traffic in Google Analytics

While using Google Analytics is the first step to unlocking PR ROI, learning from Google Analytics findings is a multi step process including:

  • Configuring Google Analytics
  • Creating Valuable Content
  • Creating Goals in Google Analytics
  • Executing PR Campaign Around Goal
  • Viewing Reports Through Filters
  • Exporting Data for Advanced Analysis
