Over the past several months at Walker Sands, I have had the opportunity to work with a number of companies on their website redesign projects. One such company is Lumity, a Chicago nonprofit that offers financial and technology consulting to other nonprofits in the area. In addition, they partner with Community Technology Centers to provide workforce skills to areas of the community where such opportunities are not readily available. In the past year alone, Lumity helped over 5,100 individuals receive valuable training.
Lumity would like to continue to grow, and ultimately offer their program state-wide. As a top contender in Blackman Kallick Plante Moran’s Chicago Community Champions contest, Lumity is hoping to win the $25,000 grand prize to make it a reality.
You can help by voting to keep them in the running! There is no limit to the amount of times you can vote, but the contest closes at 12 p.m. CST on Friday, August 10th. After the cutoff, the top 10 companies with the most votes will go through a final round of voting from 8 a.m. on Monday, August 13th until 12 p.m. on Friday, August 17th. Voting is as simple as filling out your name, email address, and selecting Lumity from a list of organizations.
Having worked directly with several members of Lumity’s staff, I can personally attest to their hard work and determination to make a difference in the city of Chicago. Please vote and spread the word!
