There has been huge shakeups in more than just the supermarket checkout in recent months thanks to the transition to EMV equipped credit cards and processors. In 2015, many stores began to make the switch to EMV compatible machines, forcing consumers to swap their magnetic strip credit cards in for new cards with micro little chips promising greater security at checkout. In the meantime, the small chip is creating longer lines and mixed sentiment from consumers and retailers.
