Walker Sands is looking for fall PR interns! I say this with excitement because I remember my intern days at Walker Sands with fondness.
The internship runs from September 22 to December 16. The rest of this post gives some info as to what we’re looking for in an intern, but I’d also like to share a former intern’s blog post in which she interviewed Walker Sands employees on advice they have for current and prospective interns.
So what does a Walker Sands PR intern do?
Oh, just about everything. We like to treat you as entry-level employees. Some of your tasks include: research, developing media lists, writing press releases and bylined articles, conceptualizing media pitches and conducting media outreach.
That being said, here are some of the standout skills we’re looking for in a PR intern:
How does this whole Walker Sands PR internship program work?
You’ll be part of a team that works on a group of clients. Walker Sands clients fall under both B2B and B2C sectors, although our niche is in the tech industry. It’s all very hands on. You’ll be able to work on various activities for multiple clients, giving you a well-rounded experience.
What experience is required for this internship?
Fall interns are unpaid (but you get class credit) and usually work about 20 hours/week. All of this is can be tailored to your schedule.
The best part about this internship is that there’s always a chance for a career path at Walker Sands. This depends on your performance and our hiring needs, but we do offer the opportunity to transition to a full-time position at Walker Sands after graduation.
