Winter Marketing Internship

Looking for marketing internships? Walker Sands Communications is currently looking for an self-motivated, detail-oriented and creative individual to serve as a part-time marketing intern in its Chicago office.

No two days at Walker Sands are the same, so we are looking for a marketing intern who is a constant learner, a driven self-starter and doesn't shy away from the unknown. In a growing organization, there is always room for executing on new, innovative ideas, along with getting the necessary day-to-day work completed.

As a marketing intern, you’ll work directly with our internal marketing team on a variety of campaigns across the digital, print and event marketing space. You’ll also work with our PR and digital teams to execute large scale campaigns and projects. Superb writing skills are a must, as content is king and creating clear, concise and on-brand messaging is critical to our success. Ideal candidates will also have experience with event management, and as well content and social media management systems such as Wordpress and Hootsuite.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Developing content for and managing our internal social media
  • Data collection for proprietary sales tools
  • Researching speaking opportunities and drafting submissions
  • Organizing and updating a variety of email, mailing and online contact lists
  • Writing and posting content for the company blog
  • Assisting with event preparation, including attendee briefs, handwritten notes, gift bag creation and more
  • Creating tailored email campaigns in Pardot
  • Repurposing content for our sales teams, including presentations, proposals and more

Experience Required

  • Currently holds or is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or communications
  • General understanding of the marketing landscape, including social media management, demand generation and sales enablement
  • Proven ability to handle many projects and deadlines, with an ability to multi-task and work proactively
  • Strong understanding of Excel for data collection purposes
  • Experience working with Pardot, Salesforce and Bizible a plus
  • Familiarity with public relations and digital marketing a plus

Internship Details

  • This is a paid internship beginning as soon as possible. Ideal candidates would be able to start out working part-time (at least 20 hours/week) in early 2019, and then transition into a full-time internship (40 hours/week) in the summer.
