/Founder and COO
We are looking for an ambitious, talented Director of Finance who aspires to become our CFO within three to five years and who truly understands how great financial processes can propel a fast-growth professional services firm to even greater heights.
Reporting directly to our COO -- with extensive interaction with our CEO, President and other members of our senior leadership team -- you will define our finance function: how we price our services, plan for growth, manage to the numbers, drive profitability, execute to KPIs, provide exceptional client service and develop a material competitive advantage over our competitors.
This is the perfect opportunity for a 7- to 10 year finance or accounting professional, with both financial and business acumen, who prefers not to work in a large bureaucracy where one's impact is not highly correlated to one's talents and potential.
If you want to work in an entrepreneurial, employee-loving environment where you can truly make a difference and in a job that requires near-zero travel and is centrally located in Chicago's loop, then this is absolutely a career opportunity and career path that you'll want to learn more about.
You will work closely with the board and our senior leadership team to define and execute key initiatives related to the evolution and advancement of our firm's finance and accounting functions.
With an eye to improving firm profitability and performance management, your initial focus will be on basic financial operations such as planning, pricing, profitability analysis, ad hoc analysis, forecasting, and routine accounting operations. You'll inherit a well-run and professional accounting department and will focus your energy on using your analytical skills to help Walker Sands grow revenue and profits.
Your role will quickly expand to include additional responsibilities around enhancing the organization's financial performance, including managing the annual planning process, leading process improvement efforts, evaluating and selecting financial systems, overseeing annual audits and developing a robust multi-office financial reporting system for key metrics and weekly/monthly forecasts.
Opportunities to Advance
After showing the world that your talents lived up to their billing and demonstrating that you can help us to make progress on this very important work, you will be on track to become our CFO (or an equivalent senior leadership position within the firm). At that stage, you will also be entitled to participate in various programs we have designed to reward and retain our senior leadership team.
Those who apply for this position should first confirm that they have the following requirements:
A Simple and Highly Confidential Application Process
