Meg Dedyne

Media Relations Specialist

Meg Dedyne, Walker Sands

As a media relations specialist at Walker Sands, Meg is responsible for connecting with top-tier and marketing technology reporters, as well as maintaining those relationships on a day-to-day basis. She focuses on creating robust content for her clients to establish their knowledge and leadership in the media.

Prior to joining the Walker Sands team, Meg worked with nonprofit, small business and government clients at a boutique agency in Lansing, Michigan. With proud Michigan roots, she graduated from Michigan State University and believes her curiosity stems from her degree in journalism, with a minor in public relations.

When she isn’t reading up on B2B tech trends, Meg can be found running along the lakefront trail, stopping shortly after to grab a donut at ‘Do-Rite,’ or binge watching every episode of Gilmore Girls for the fifth time.

Q&A with Meg Dedyne

What is your favorite book of all time?

I'm obsessed with documentaries and autobiographies, so Not Without My Daughter would have to be my favorite book of all time. It's an inspiring story and I'm actually reading it right now for the third time!

What is your favorite place in Chicago that isn't a typical tourist destination?

I love going to the Lincoln Park Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. It's the perfect spot for fresh baked goods and produce and it's really close to the zoo, downtown and the beach!

Would you rather have the office stocked 24/7 with Starbucks coffee or Garrett popcorn?

Starbucks coffee for sure! Every morning I need at least three cups of coffee to get my day going.

One thing people in the world wouldn't know about you?

I played snare drum in the drumline at my high school. Every Friday night on the football field -- I would be marching in the band. It was actually really fun! I got to March in many Thanksgiving day parades and my senior year, got to travel to Hawaii!

If you could live anywhere else in the world where would it be?

Being a Michigan gal, I would have to say I would like to live in a cottage on Lake Michigan. I grew up going to my grandparents' lake house in northern Michigan and have always dreamed of living right on the water someday.
