Today’s education environment is primed for edtech adoption. Yet, while the possible impact of edtech has excited many educators, the investment and adoption of technology within education has been slow to follow. Bureaucracy too often hinders adoption, and a lack of proper funding further cements the education industry’ gap between vision and reality.
Despite barriers to entry like cost and a lack of familiarity, interest in edtech has not stopped growing. Desire for edtech is on the rise, and closely following desire will be greater adoption.
The Walker Sands Communications’ education technology (edtech) team surveyed more than 500 U.S. education professionals on their edtech successes and frustrations, as well as their future technology goals and desires. The relationship between schools/universities and the technologies they use may be complex, but edtech has the potential to dramatically improve how teachers interact with students. And for the better.
