Media Relations Strategist
Brittany Martin offers retail technology and education technology clients like Accenture Interactive, CloudCraze and Flipgrid strong experience in media relations and a passion for telling great stories. In her role as media relations strategist, she builds out media strategy plans, develops relationships with key reporters to secure media placements at target top-tier and trade publications, and develops written content and key messaging for her clients to be positioned as thought leaders.
Prior to joining the Walker Sands team, Brittany practiced institutional, non-for-profit and corporate PR, as well as boutique and international PR agency work, touching on a variety of industries for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
Brittany graduated with honors from Illinois State University with a bachelor's degree in public relations and a minor in Spanish, after having finished her minor studies at an international school in Spain.
When Brittany isn’t producing great work for her clients at Walker Sands, she is using her free time to develop a children’s book series, which she hopes to one day get made into a children's TV series. A girl can dream!
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee – the book acts as a moral compass that should continue to be revisited by the generations to come.
I had to ask my best friend for this one – she said Chelsea from That's So Raven because, "She was smart, dorky at times like you, super sweet, and a lot of fun."
That's tough because I would have said the Shedd Aquarium or The Signature Lounge, but since it can't be touristy, I'd have to go with any riverside cafe, since eating lunch with a water view on a day when, "it's not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket," is the best. ;)
Wish I didn't have to choose, but gotta go with the unlimited coffee since it would keep me going instead of give me a stomach ache like the popcorn after I kept digging in like I would.
Probably when I took minutes on end getting the perfect Instagram shot of Katie holding a cute little espresso mug from the coffee bar (she had to be my hand model since my hands aren't worthy) and she told me she's actually been approached to be one before. How serendipitous to have an almost-professional hand model on deck like that? I was dying of laughter.
I write poems and songs in my spare time and I've tried out for The Voice three times now – a girl's got to dream!
Granada, Spain – I studied abroad there and it was the most magical place I've ever been able to call home. Rivers, mountains, beautiful architecture, great culture and weather, cheap tapas and delicious, local wine – what more could you ask for?
