Summary: Need help with PR? If you are looking for a great PR firm, you've found one. Walker Sands is a leading Chicago PR firm with a strong track record that makes it one of top national PR agencies..

The rights to a song auctioned on EBay were acquired by a Chicago producer and composer for $660.

Ron Steele, an independent music composer and producer at Chicago's I Dig Music, bought "The Gravity Situation" by VH1 Songwriter of the Year 2005 Katherine Schell, beating out other bidders to own the exclusive rights to market the song for one year.
Ms. Schell, a singer-songwriter, is the first artist to offer her song's marketing rights for auction on EBay, a marketing plan developed to bring attention to the song and profit from its sale.

"I am pleased because this is nontraditional," said Matt Campbell, Ms. Schell's manager at Recessive Gene Records. "We aspired to be more successful financially but an independent commercial producer buying it -- it gives a lot more leeway in how it can be used."

We thought it would be a great opportunity for his company as well. He saw it as a good investment."
Mr. Steele said he came across the bid on EBay over the weekend and became intrigued.

"I like to help young artists and I have always done that," he said. "I thought, 'Why not?'?" After visiting her Web site and listening to the music, he decided to place a bid.

"I thought it was a clever way to expose and market oneself." He plans to offer the song to clients, who are looking for original music for TV and radio.

Mr. Campbell will travel to New York to draw up the contract with a lawyer before finalizing with Mr. Steele.
