Monday marks the fifth anniversary of 9/11, one of the saddest days in our nation's history. The Pocono Record in partnership with Legacy.com is providing a Web site where you can read about and honor those who lost their lives on 9/11.

 To get started, go to www.poconorecord.com/911. You can search the profiles of individuals who died on 9/11 by last name, home town, home state or location/flight. You can also browse profiles by location/flight by clicking on a location/flight name at the top left of the main page.

On a search results page, you can click on a person's name to read their profile.

On a profile page, you can add your thoughts to that person's guestbook by clicking on "View/Sign GuestBook."

You can also create a Moving Tribute with photos and audio by clicking on "Create a Tribute." To share a person's profile with a friend through email, click on "E-mail this tribute."

In addition to adding comments to individual profiles, you can leave your thoughts in a National Book of Remembrance by clicking on "Sign the National Book of Remembrance" in the center of the main page.

The "11 Days of Remembrance," an online memorial event marking the fifth anniversary of 9/11, began on Friday, Sept. 1. On 9/11, visitors will have the opportunity to pay tribute to those whose lives were lost.
