| Cybertainment: Online Memorial Marks Anniversary of Sept. 11 |
||
| Pitsburgh Post Gazette September 9, 2006 Summary: Need help with PR? If you are looking for a great PR firm, you've found one. Walker Sands is a leading Chicago PR firm with a strong track record that makes it one of top national PR agencies.. ADRIAN'S PICK SITE: When people first started taking test drives on the
information superhighway, it was a new kind of community, where people
who shared interests and concerns, but not physical space, could communicate
and connect. Today, between the pop-up ads and the spyware, that sense of online community is still strong. On Sept. 1, Legacy.com launched an online memorial event marking the fifth anniversary of 9/11. Called "11 Days of Remembrance," people were invited to share their thoughts on a series of daily topics, such as personal connections to victims, how the event changed priorities and what people would like future generations to remember about 9/11. "11 Days of Remembrance" is part of the site's Sept. 11 section, which also includes a national book of remembrance with profiles of people who lost their lives in the attacks, and tributes written by friends and family. The series will come to culmination tomorrow.
