Payal Shukla is an account executive at Walker Sands, specializing in the wearable technology, electronics and payments spaces. Payal leads the strategy and execution of both B2B and B2C digital marketing campaigns and works closely with a team of highly talented specialists to identify and maintain relationships with target media. She has helped clients establish credibility, build brand awareness, expand into new markets and announce key milestones such as acquisitions. Her work has been recognized by both the Publicity Club of Chicago and Public Relations Society of America.
Payal joined Walker Sands in 2013 as a media relations specialist. In that role, she developed a strong background in research, planning, content development and pitching – earning her clients coverage in a wide range of publications including Bloomberg, Forbes, The New York Times and TIME Magazine. With extensive experience securing and coordinating press opportunities, Payal also helped to develop the executive media training materials used at Walker Sands today.
In addition to B2B and technology, Payal has experience in the health, nonprofit and education sectors of PR. She is an honors graduate of the Department of Communication at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where she also completed her certification in public relations. Her background is in journalism as a reporter, desk editor and radio producer.
Outside of the office, Payal is an avid (self-proclaimed) world traveler, having visited more than a dozen countries. She also speaks four languages.
