As Director of Web Services and Social Media, John
serves as the strategic architect and technical director of our
web and social media offerings.
John has more than 13 years of experience
developing web sites for start-ups and small-to-medium-sized businesses,
extensive SEO knowledge, and a passion for forwarding brands through
social media.
His influence was the key driver in the Walker Sands’ industry
leading web development process based on five principles: design,
business alignment, maintenance, SEO, and affordability. John also
led the development of a proprietary search-optimized content management
system for Walker Sands in October 2007. Currently, John is a leading
advocate in customer engagement through the use of social media
and works closely with all of our clients in this area.
Prior to Walker Sands, John served as CTO for ThoughtSpeed, a privately-held
boutique venture capital firm focused on Internet-based technologies.
He researched and tracked industry SEO trends and developed iterative
actionable plans for portfolio companies.
John also has experience as a key leader for a multi-million-dollar
software company that builds multi-channel automated communication
solutions for Fortune 500 companies, including UAL, Wells Fargo,
Express Scripts and Charles Schwab. As the Vice President of Engineering
and Operations at CenterPost Communications, John was responsible
for all components of product development, network operations, IT,
quality assurance and technical writing.
John’s SEO and social media expertise has landed him in multiple
publications, including the Chicago Tribune and eWeek. John is active
in the local web development/SEO community and has given presentations
at events such as SocialDevCamp.
