Brian Dema previously served as the President of
Walker Sands. Recently, Brian started down the path of getting a
post-graduate degree in management. However, during this time, he
continues to stay active with Walker Sands in a consulting role.
Brian is an expert marketer with deep knowledge in lead generation,
sales systems, and marketing management. He has developed integrated
marketing campaigns for some of America's largest corporations.
Before joining Walker Sands, Brian held marketing positions at
a leading CRM software consultancy and at a Chicago-area marketing
consulting firm.
Brian studied philosophy and anthropology at Northwestern University.
He has also worked as an archaeologist in Belize, Central America. He
was a member of the Western Belize Regional Cave project, studying
Mayan cave rituals and human sacrifice, where he directed initial
reconnaissance at a cave site and published his findings. He also
worked with the CHAN Archaeological Survey Project which studied
the ritual orientation of Maya village life. His other academic
interests include creative nonfiction writing, chaos theory, and philosophy.
As a writer, Brian has published non-academic articles in Great
Lakes Boating Magazine, The Columbus Dispatch Columbus Alive
Magazine, and The Daily Northwestern. Last fall, he traveled
to China, Thailand and Cambodia to write about topics including
the long-term effects of the tsunami. Brian is an avid sailor and
he currently practices Kung Fu and Tai Chi. He also plays the tenor
saxophone, focusing on jazz improvisation, with several professional
bands. Brian lives in Wrigleyville and is a Cubs fan.
