Looking for Chicago PR internships? Walker Sands Communications is looking for an energetic detailed-oriented person to serve as a public relations intern for a 13-week Spring 2010 internship at its Chicago office.
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICANTS FOR SPRING
2010 PR INTERNSHIPS.
Our Chicago PR intern will be responsible for developing media lists, conceptualizing pitches, writing press releases and preparing contributed articles.
You should have superb writing skills and an interest in conducting web research. You must have an obsession with grammar and the ability to take mediocre writing and make it stronger. If typos jump off the page at you, it is a good sign.
We would like you to have a strong interest in the media, trends, and what constitutes a good story. If you are a news addict and a journalist wannabe, you'll do well here.
As part of our Chicago PR Spring Internships Program, you will work on a small team for clients that specialize in the small business and technology sectors. You must be able to think on your feet and change gears quickly.
This is one of the best PR internships in Chicago. At the end of the internship program, you will have had in-depth exposure to what it's like to work in the PR industry.
- Completing (or have recently completed) undergraduate coursework in journalism, marketing communications or business.
- Preferably a junior or senior, but others will be considered based on level of experience.

- All PR internship candidate finalists must complete a writing test.
- Spring PR interns may have the opportunity to transition to a full-time position after graduation. This depends on PR internship performance and Walker Sands hiring needs.
