RIO RANCHO, N.M. (AP) - The Rio Rancho City Council has approved an agreement for a citywide high-speed wireless communication system.

Councilors unanimously voted Thursday to approve the license agreement with Ottawa Wireless of Michigan and Azulstar Networks of New Mexico.

The president of the two companies, Tyler van Houwelingen, says deployment of the network should begin by November 17th. Coverage of the entire 103-square-mile city is expected by March.

The city will receive one percent of the monthly profits between $100,000 and $300,000 dollars. The payments will rise to three percent of the profits between $300000 and $500,00 dollars and increase to seven percent of profits of more than $500,000.
